- Black, dense yet supple wool fabric, jacket is lined with brown checked cotton, with a brown velvet collar
- The suit is quite well preserved; the wool fabric shows no significant wear. There are a few small holes, some of them carefully mended. The velvet collar is less well preserved, with visible wear on the back.
- The suit comprises wide, high-waisted trousers—designed to be worn with suspenders—and a double-breasted jacket adorned with a velvet collar detail and original bone buttons
