  • Winter short coat, made in the 1940s, Latvia
  • Thick, heavyweight, coarse homespun wool in natural shades of two-tone brown, featuring a vertical herringbone stripe pattern. The coat is lined with cotton and has a very thick, warm insulating interlayer 
  • The coat is worn, with more noticeable wear around the pockets and cuffs, but overall it is in good condition and still wearable
  • A heavily insulated winter coat with strongly padded shoulders, a double-breasted front and wide notched lapels. This garment is a striking example of 1940s fashion and the harsh everyday rural living conditions of the period
