- Ladies' coat, made in the late 19th century
- Heavyweight black wool fabric with brown soutache trim embroidery
- Very good antique condition. Despite being nearly 150 years old, the garment shows only minor wear, including a few tiny, barely visible holes
- This fitted, elongated coat is tailored to follow the elegant S-curve silhouette associated with the corseted fashions of the late Victorian period. Featuring characteristic leg-of-mutton sleeves and elaborate Art Nouveau-style soutache embroidery, it is a fine example of late 19th-century craftsmanship and design. Due to its original cut, the underarm area may feel somewhat restrictive for a modern wearer
